เหรียญศารทูลมาลานี้เมื่อผู้รับพระราชทานสิ้นชีพล่วงลับไปแล้ว ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ พระราชทานให้ไว้เป็นที่ระลึกแก่บุตรหลานสืบต่อไปไม่ต้องส่งคืน แต่ผู้ที่ได้รับต่อ ๆ กันไปดังนี้ จะใช้ติดเหรียญนี้ประดับกายไม่ได้ เป็นแต่พระราชทานให้เก็บไว้เป็นที่ระลึกเท่านั้น
